Members of the Allardt Elementary “HOPE CLUB” are pictures with a couple of our friends at Best Friends Sanctuary.

Allardt Elementary’s Hope Club has been working at putting together a gift package to assist with the needs of the animals at the shelter.  Allardt’s club sponsor Mrs. Tammy Linder has done a great job at putting together areas to “pay it forward”.  Last month they were asked to bring in something that was pet related.  Items included dog food, collars, pet toys, old news papers, etc.   Mrs. Tammy shared that the kids were excited to be helping out and as you see by the above picture they got to go be part of the deliver and visit with the dogs that they were assisting.  Some other areas that they will be assisting in for the months to come include Signature Health Care, Manna House and The Children Center.

A giving heart is an amazing thing, instilling these characteristics is a simple way to make the future better for all around you.  The Hope Club strives to teach and direct our youth to pay it forward.   It’s good to be reminded that something as simple and a sweet smile and pleasant greeting can make someones life not only better but easier.

While visiting we learned they have approximately 40 dogs that they are caring for presently.  Prior to our visit 25 dogs were shipped to a larger shelter that is able to adopt more dogs out, but they also had several others picked up, dropped off and now calling Best Friends Sanctuary their home.  We would like to encourage anyone that might be interested in assisting to drop off some old news papers, a bag of dog food, simple anything that would help those folks in taking care of these homeless pets or if making a donation is easier that would be greatly appreciated as well.  Also remember if you are looking for a pet, stop by there they have some awesome pets that need a forever home. It might be a great time to adopt.
